Recommended by Cook’s Illustrated, the Shun Classic Santoku Knife just may be the hottest kitchen tool on the market today. This Asian version of a chef’s knife is giving Western-style knives a run for their money. It combines the benefits of a cleaver and a Western chef’s knife for versatile performance, but what it really excels at are precision tasks, like slicing paper-thin onions. The DM0702 Santoku shown above has a standard, flat-ground blade. The DM0718 Santoku features a hollow-ground blade, with oval recesses that reduce friction between the blade and the food. Features: • Forged “Super Steel” 7-in. blade of VG–10 steel core is clad with 32 layers of SUS410 high-carbon stainless steel for superior strength. • Samurai technology (thinner blade sharpened at more acute angle) allows for more precise cutting than Western knives. • Blade holds razor-sharp edge longer than other kitchen knives and rarely needs sharpening. • Beautiful moiré pattern reduces food sticking to sides of blade. • Stainless-steel end cap and bolster are durable and attractive. • Unique offset bolster offers the highest level of safety and control. • “D” shape ergonomic handle of dishwasher-safe PakkaWood®. • Lifetime warranty. |
